By Brian M. Downer
I was looking for a light that would fit on multiple handguns, including Glock 17, 19; Smith and Wesson M&P; Ed Brown Railed Special Forces 1911; and Kimber Warrior 1911. I was a bit dubious that the advertised universal attachement would work on both the generic rails of the Glock, as well as the Mil-Spec 1913 rails on the S&W and 1911's. I had tried other lights, and while some of them fit perfectly on one or two platform, nothing fit well on all of them (specifically on the M&P, which is advertised as being a Mil-Spec 1913 rail but doesn't exactly match the dimensions of any other 1913 rail I've measured). This light is rock solid on all the platforms. It works just as advertised, and is more than bright enough. It is also very lightweight, which helps when only one hand is available to manipulate the weapon/light.
I'm not giving it a full 5 stars for only one reason. Once activated, there is a halo effect outside of the center of illumination (focus area). On a weapon's light this can be very dangerous as it can reflect light of walls/ceilings/objects, which will in turn illuminate the person activating the light. In hallways, and interior structures, you may often find the light reflecting back onto you, as well as casting your shadow. This problem, though, is pretty much common with both handheld and weapon mounted lights and can be somewhat controlled by being able to focus the beam of light. Unfortunately, the M3 doesn't let you focus the light very much (almost imperceptibly).

I purchased this for my bedside gun which is a Glock 30sf. It fits tight, but not too tight. I ran about 200 rounds with it mounted and turned on. No problems whatsoever. It also goes on my AR for the occasional coyote eradication. It is very bright and I believe it will serve it's purpose well.

Strong polymer construction, fits tightly on Sig Sauer P220, P229.
Doesn't change the balance of the firearm noticeably, no rattling, and remains easy to remove, unlike some weaponlights. Be aware it is rather thick from side to side - not an issue if you're using a proper holster, but something to be aware of.
