magnification is great, wish it let in a little more light though, I have the 10X as well and it does a better job, higher up and a different clear part. other than that its a great buy. as with the 10X it would be better if it was glass, but i'm sure the price would go up. magnification is really significant. I only use it when I need to see extreme detail on the edge of resolution, it tires out my eyes with extended use but its perfect for small details on aerial photos.

I know, I should have paid closer attention to the dimensions, but this loupe is so small, it is nearly useless. The eye piece is smaller than a postage stamp and the bottom clear piece does not stand tall enough to get good focus and/illumination. If you realize this before you buy it- then no problem. It magnifies just fine. We have a 5x loupe that we use all the time, and this is at least twice as powerful. Good price. Prompt delivery.
